No, Andy Serkis is not the voice actor for The Lord of the Rings: Gollum or Smeagol.

Though it has been confirmed that Andy Serkis will not be the voice actor in the upcoming game, it is not yet known who the precious chosen one is. As the September 1 release date gets closer, more information about the case is likely to be revealed.

For now, all that is known is that Andy Serkis won’t be reprising his role for this game.

Why isn’t Andy Serkis playing The Lord of the Rings: Gollum character?

It’s not publicly known why Andy Serkis isn’t playing The Lord of the Rings: Gollum.

The reason why Andy Serkis isn’t playing Gollum and Smeagol in the upcoming action-adventure video game is yet to be established. Perhaps there are time constraints, scheduling issues, money, or just simply that Andy may not want to do the role again. At the time of writing, there is currently no confirmation on the actual reason.

This isn’t the first time that Gollum has been played by someone other than Andy Serkis. In the Shadow of Mordor and Shadow of War games, Liam O’Brien provides voice and motion capture for Gollum.
