With the highly anticipated Hogwarts Legacy release date looming, many fans will be eager to fulfill their wizarding dreams. However, many fans are wondering whether or not they’ll be able to fulfill those dreams with friends via multiplayer co-op or even online duels. Here is the need-to-know information about Hogwarts Legacy multiplayer.
Will Hogwarts Legacy have multiplayer modes?
Hogwarts Legacy will not contain any multiplayer or co-op modes.
HL developers confirmed one of the most asked questions via their FAQ page. “Hogwarts Legacy is a single-player experience and does not have online or co-op gameplay.”
For many, this will be disappointing to hear, as like myself, enjoying some downtime with your friends is something that we all look forward to, especially in the virtual wizarding world of Harry Potter’s Hogwarts.
Will Hogwarts Legacy get a multiplayer update?
While nothing is officially confirmed, it’s possible to see big-budget games receive significant patches that add expansions, some of which include multiplayer components.
The most recent example of this is Ghost of Tsushima, which received the Legends cooperative multiplayer expansion, to the surprise of fans.
In the modern age of gaming, you can’t really rule anything out thanks to what’s possible through online updates. It’s not unusual to see developers implement patches to give players what they want, so who knows? Hogwarts Legacy could see an update in the future where multiplayer and co-op modes and features will be available to all. Or perhaps it will be an idea for the potential sequel.
For now, Hogwarts Legacy is planned to be a single-player experience and a totally solo adventure.
