MultiVersus Mature Language

MultiVersus Mature Language: Which Characters Curse and Swear?

Many MultiVersus players are confused about the Mature Language checkbox that appears in the game’s audio settings. Given that most of the characters within the game are from rated G (or PG) productions, just what does turning this on do, and what does “mature language” really mean?

Which characters does the Mature Language setting affect in MultiVersus?

So far, we’ve confirmed that two characters in MultiVersus are affected by the Mature Language setting:

  • Batman
  • Harley Quinn

Although it hasn’t been confirmed yet, we wouldn’t be surprised if Rick and Morty also gain some new voicelines when Mature Language is activated.

Here are some of the lines that are added:

Harley Quinn:

  • Bitchin’!
  • Holy shitburgers!
  • That was badass!

Batman:

  • Computer, log that one under “very badass.”
  • How much do you shit? (I may be hearing this one wrong).

Other than these five lines spread over two characters, we haven’t heard any other characters say anything out of the norm. Like we said above, Rick and Morty might bring out the big guns for the Mature Language setting, but for now, the difference between having it on or off is relatively minor.

However, there have been some allegedly leaked and datamined characters coming that may bring some spicy language with them like:

  • Beetlejuice
  • Daenerys Targaryen
  • The Joker
  • Mad Max
  • Neo
  • Poison Ivy
  • Scorpion
  • Sub Zero

Warner Bros. has the rights to a ton of characters, so we wouldn’t be surprised to see some appear that curse and swear up a storm. The game is rated T (Teen) by the ESRB, so there’s quite a bit of leeway for zany voice lines. We don’t know how many f-bombs will get dropped, but we’ll probably see a good mix of asses, shits, bastards, damnits, and other PG-13-rated words. Rick and Morty are scheduled to drop next week, so we’ll get a chance to see just how mature language and Multiverse can get.
