Players are clamoring for the Fortnite Xenomorph skin to come back. The Alien from Alien is one of the most popular outfits to ever be added to the game. However, it was only available for a limited time, and fans have been hoping it’ll return to the store so they’ll get another chance to buy it.
Will the Fortnite Xenomorph skin ever return to the item shop?
The Xenomorph skin has come back to the Fortnite Item Shop before, so there’s a good chance it could return. The skin was originally released on February 26, 2021, and was available until March 3 and returned again on March 14-16. The Alien was added to the store for the last time on April 26, 2021.
When the Xenomorph was on the item shop, it could be purchased for 1,600 V-Bucks, or players could spend 2,200 V-Bucks for a bundle and get Ellen Ripley as well. It’s part of the In Space… Set which contains other Alien-themed items.
Unlike some other skins, the Xenomorph wasn’t part of any in-game events, it would be one of the easier collaborations to bring back. The issue with this (and any other collaboration skin) is that Epic Games might not have the license to sell it anymore. We’re not privy to the ins and outs of these agreements, but we doubt Epic Games has permission to sell these in perpetuity.
So, the big blocker for the Xenomorph coming back to the item store is likely licensing. Fortunately, the rights to the Alien franchise are owned by Disney, who has repeatedly worked with Epic Games on other collaborations. So, if demand is high enough, we might see an encore for the Xenomorph skin. However, for now, there are no official plans to bring it back. Hopefully, we’ll see it rereleased as part of a full Alien event at some point.
