The second episode of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law has premiered on Disney+ and fans may be wondering what happened at the end of the new episode. This new Marvel Cinematic Universe series continues the storylines established in previous films while introducing Jennifer Walters (Tatiana Maslany), an attorney who can transform into a 6-foot-7 green superhero. This is what happened at the end of She-Hulk episode 2.
She-Hulk episode 2 ending explained
At the end of the new episode, Jennifer agrees to represent Emil Blonsky/Abomination in his parole case. She receives Bruce Banner’s blessing and believes she has the case in the bag, but soon turns on the news and sees that there is leaked footage of Abomination having escaped from prison and participating in an underground fight club.
This ending scene is a direct reference to the 2021 Marvel film Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. In that movie, Shang-Chi and Katy enter an underground fight club in Macau and stumble across a battle between Abomination and Wong (Benedict Wong). The footage playing on the news at the end of She-Hulk episode 2 is from their fight, in which Wong casts a spell that leads to Abomination punching himself in the face.
After their fight in Shang-Chi, Wong opens a portal, and the two return to a room that looks exactly like Abomination’s cell in She-Hulk. This demonstrates the continuity between MCU properties, as it is suggested that Wong enlisted Abomination into the underground fight club and returned him to his cell prior to the events of this series. As Wong has been confirmed to return in She-Hulk, it is likely that Jennifer will reach out to him to testify on behalf of Abomination and relieve him of any wrongdoing.
While the ending of the new episode may be confusing to those who haven’t seen Shang-Chi, it is a reward for those who have kept up with every new installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and understand the callbacks to other films and TV shows in this universe.
