You Season 4 has finally arrived on Netflix, with Part 1 of the show’s latest season available to stream and watch now. Made up of five episodes, there is plenty of mystery and intrigue woven throughout the latest installment to Joe Goldberg’s terrifying tale. Now living in London, under the fake identity of Professor Jonathan Moore, the show introduces a whole bunch of new characters. Among them is the son of a wealthy businessman, called Adam. As Season 4 delves into what Adam gets up to behind closed doors, viewers may wonder, is Adam gay, or just exploring his sexuality and identity?
Is Adam gay in You Season 4 on Netflix?
Adam is not gay in You Season 4. The Netflix series does showcase Adam’s attraction to both women and men in Part 1, but that does not make him homosexual. Comments by Lady Phoebe in one scene during Episode 5 actually confirm that Adam is pansexual, which she says is part of his “charm.” Pansexuality is the sexual, romantic, or emotional attraction towards people, regardless of their sex or gender identity.
After discovering that Adam has some kinks he hasn’t shared with her just yet, his girlfriend, Lady Phoebe, indulges in his desires. After getting him to open up, she delivers the hilarious line, “may I wee on you sir?” before they try to enjoy a moment of sexual gratification and bond over his unique wants and needs. Unfortunately for Phoebe, Adam only finds satisfaction in being urinated on by those he views as beneath him, so that they can be remorseful about their actions.
At the end of You Season 4, Part 1, we see Phoebe and Adam separated. Whether or not this will allow Adam to explore his sexuality further in the second part of the new season remains to be seen.
