Warzone 2 Best Aim Assist Type: Precision, Focusing, Black Ops, or Default?

The use of aim assist options in shooters such as Warzone 2 is one of, if not the most heated debate topics in FPS gaming. Still, it’s a well-recognized necessity in leveling the playing field between players on controller and keyboard and mouse users, and Call of Duty: Warzone offers multiple aim assist types to take advantage of — as such, players are wondering if Precision, Focusing, Black Ops, or Default settings are the best.

Warzone 2 Aim Assist Types: Explained

Unless you’re a die-hard Black Ops fan, the first three settings — Precision, Focusing, and Default — will likely work the best for you as you find your feet in using Aim Assist correctly. Fans of the Modern Warfare series will feel right at home with Default’s slowdown, while Precision is there for those who are more seasoned and accurate. Focusing is for anyone brand new to controller aiming, but it might make reactive actions a little harder to pull off.

  • Default: Traditional aim slowdown near target used in Modern Warfare games.
  • Precision: Strong aim slowdown that only kicks in when aiming closer to the target. Best for accurate players.
  • Focusing: Strong aim slowdown that also kicks in when narrowly missing the target. Best for players new to analog aiming.
  • Black Ops: Traditional aim slowdown near target used in Black Ops games.

Best Aim Assist Settings for Warzone 2

To change your Aim Assist Settings in Warzone 2 (or Modern Warfare 2), open Settings, then the Controller menu, and open the Advanced tab.

We would recommend taking the Default option if you’re new to Warzone 2, but players more confident in their accuracy and accustomed to WZ’s mid to long-range gameplay should try the Precision setting for better results.
