The Pokémon Trading Card Game has come a long way since its inception, but the Pokémon TCG Classic set, announced in February’s Pokémon Presents, is targeted at those nostalgic for the days of the original cards. Here’s everything we know about its release date, price, pre-order date, and when you can buy the set.
When is the Pokémon TCG Classic release date?
Full details on Pokémon TCG Classic have not yet been revealed, but the Pokémon Presents trailer gave us lots of exciting information, including a potential release date announcement date. A sneak peek is planned for the Pokémon World Championships, which takes place between 11 – 13 August.
As for the set itself, it looks to be a premium release centered around Gen 1 cards. Custom spinning damage counters and a solid black and white game board, and custom card sleeves are included. The complete lineup of cards has not been announced, but in the trailer, you can spot classic Pokémon like Venesaur, Charizard, and Pikachu.
The above image, taken from the end of the trailer, states that “products and images shown are still in development.” So we may have to wait until August to hear more details about the upcoming set, including its price and release date.
