Resident Evil 4 Remake Red9 Location and Stock Location

Resident Evil 4 Remake Red9 Location: Where to Find the Gun and Stock

You can find the Red9 in Resident Evil 4 remake as soon as you get the boat in Chapter 4. It’s one of the few free weapons you’ll find in the game, which is great because it’s a fan favorite. However, you’ll have to wait a bit to get the Red9 Stock, which is, unfortunately, not free.

You’ll have to wait a while to find the Red9 Stock. Once you reach Chapter 6 you can get it from the Merchant. However, he won’t sell it for Peseta. You’ll have to trade nine Spinels to him for it. If you plan on using the Red9, it’s well worth it since it helps cut the gun’s recoil significantly.

What real-life gun is the Red9 based on?

The Red9 in Resident Evil 4 remake is based on the Mauser C96. Specifically, it’s based on the Red 9 variant, which is chambered in 9mm Parabellum. The gun was originally chambered in 7.63mm Mauser, but the Imperial German Army contracted Mauser to make 150,000 C96 pistols to help offset the slow production of the army’s standard firearm, the Luger P08. Since it was hard to tell the 7.63mm and 9mm versions apart, a large “9” was burned into the grip and painted red to warn users not to load the wrong ammunition.

Notably, the game models the Red 9’s internal magazine correctly. Unlike the other semi-automatic pistols in the game, it’s not possible to reload a C96 while it has a round in the chamber. Therefore it’s limited to the capacity of its magazine and doesn’t get the +1 bonus round other guns do if you reload them with a partial magazine.
