Resident Evil 4 remake Quarry Boss El Gigante

Resident Evil 4 Remake Quarry Boss Fight: How to Beat El Gigante

The Quarry boss fight against El Gigante in Resident Evil 4 remake is the hardest battle up to that point in the game. However, his bark is worse than his bite, and there are a couple of ways to make this battle much easier. Unfortunately, they require some pre-planning, and by the time you reach him, it’s too late to do so. So, we’ll cover how to fight him the easy and hard ways below.

Resident Evil 4 remake El Gigante Quarry Boss Fight: The Easy Way

Resident Evil 4 remake Quarry boss El Gigante and Dog

There are two things you can do to make the El Gigante Quarry boss fight easier in Resident Evil 4 remake:

When the fight starts, you just need to avoid El Gigante’s stomps and shoot him in the head when it’s safe. After you do enough damage, a cutscene will play, and the dog you saved will come to your rescue. From then on, the dog will aggro the boss and pull him away from you.

At this point in the fight, the Plaga should be wriggling out of El Gigante’s back. When it’s fully extended, throw a Flash Grenade at his back. It will do a ton of damage and instantly stagger him, allowing you to get near and tap the prompt to jump on his back and slash at the Plaga.

Each time he gets up, wait for the Plaga to rise up, then throw a Flash Grenade to stagger him and repeat. It takes roughly four Flash Grenades on Standard difficulty to take down, which means the fight should only take 2-3 minutes.

Resident Evil 4 remake El Gigante Quarry Boss Fight: The Hard Way

Even if you didn’t prep for the fight, El Gigante in the Quarry is the easiest boss fight in Resident Evil 4 remake. However, do yourself a favor and purchase the SR M1903 and scope if you haven’t already.

Start the battle off the same way, by shooting him in the face with your handgun until the Plaga emerges from his back. Now, to get a clear shot at his back, you must wait until he winds up to stomp you, equip your rifle, and veer around him. When he misses, he’ll pause for a second, which gives you enough time to quickly raise your rifle and fire a shot into the Plaga.

Unfortunately, this makes for a more grueling fight. If you haven’t upgraded the SR M1903 at all, it’ll take a few shots each time to stagger him. However, if you stay patient, it’s not too hard to dodge his attacks and take him out.
