In Resident Evil 4 remake Mercenaries, getting S++ with Luis isn’t too tough. He’s blessed with the powerful Red9 handgun, and his Mayhem Mode ability is fantastic once you get the hang of using it. However, his big drawbacks are that he can be awkward to play as due to his loadout, and if his Mayhem Mode isn’t charged, his crowd-control options are limited. Fortunately, we’ve got the strategy you need to get S++ in RE4 remake Mercenaries with Luis below.
How to get S++ with Luis in Resident Evil 4 remake Mercenaries
You need to get 1,000,000 points on a map to get S++ with Luis in Resident Evil 4 remake Mercenaries. To do so, keep these three goals in mind:
- Keep killing enemies so you don’t lose your bonus.
- Defeat all 150 enemies to end the round.
- Don’t die.
The above is all it takes to get S++. You don’t have to worry too much about marksmanship and maxing out your points. By the time you kill the 150th enemy in each map, you’ll have scored enough points through kills and bonuses to clear the 1,000,000 needed for S++.
RE4 remake Mercenaries: Luis’s loadout
Luis begins each round with:
- Red9
- SR 1903 (with Biosensor Scope)
- Flash Grenade
- First Aid Spray x2
- Boot Knife x1
Luis has an amazing Mayhem Mode that lets you drop bundles of dynamite over a short period of time. What makes this so useful is that you can either detonate them with a gunshot, which will instakill pretty much everything around you or drop them behind you like timed mines. You should spam these as much as possible since the blast can’t hurt you!
While you’re waiting for your dynamite to recharge, you’ll mostly want to stick with the Red9. It’s so powerful that there’s rarely a reason to switch over to the SR 1903. The exception is on the Island map, where you can run up the stairs to the top of the scaffolding and get some good kills from long-range.
Luis also has a unique melee attack that hits foes with a pipe. It has the longest range of any melee attack in the game and can hit multiple enemies with one swipe. It’s excellent for enemies caught on the outer edge of your dynamite explosions that are staggered but still alive.
