Ubisoft Plus is now available on Xbox consoles, but many are confused about whether it is included in Xbox Game Pass. As EA Play is included in a PC or Ultimate Game Pass subscription, it would make sense for Ubisoft to follow suit.
Is Ubisoft Plus sold separately from Xbox Game Pass?
Ubisoft Plus is not included in an Xbox Game Pass subscription. Unlike EA Play, which can be purchased separately, or as part of a Game Pass subscription, you’ll need to buy Ubisoft Plus separately.
Ubisoft Plus is also more expensive than Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. Ubisoft Plus costs $17.99 a month, whereas an Ultimate subscription costs $14.99. However, you get plenty of games; read the full list on the Xbox website.
Ubisoft’s reasoning behind the decision is that they believe there’s still plenty of competition available in the game subscription market. (via GI.biz). With over 100 games, it’s easy to see why they believe fans of established Ubisoft franchises (e.g., Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, Watch Dogs) may choose Ubisoft Plus over Xbox Game Pass.
But if you can’t decide between the subscription services, you may want to consider an Xbox Game Pass Friends and Family subscription, which could save you a few dollars.
