Players are wondering where the Divine Beasts are in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. These powerful machines were used to help defeat Calamity Ganon in Breath of the Wild and would certainly be helpful in the fight against the Demon King. At the end of the previous game, it seemed like the Divine Beasts were still around, but are they still around?
Can you find the Divine Beasts in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom?
The Divine Beasts aren’t in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Despite playing a huge role in Breath of the Wild, Vah Medog, Vah Naboris, Vah Rudania, and Vah Ruta are nowhere to be found in the sequel. Strangely, there’s also no discussion about them. You would think an NPC would suggest that Link attempt to resurrect them to fight again, but in our playthrough, we haven’t heard a peep about them.
However, one clue is why using the Divine Beasts isn’t suggested in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. When you visit Zora’s Domain, you’ll be reminded that Sidon’s sister, Mipha, died fighting Ganon and had her soul trapped in a Divine Beast. This was the fate of all four Champions, and Ganon was able to corrupt and control them. The fear of this happening again led Zelda to choose to dismantle them after the final battle.
Another reason the Divine Beasts aren’t used in Tears of the Kingdom might be because Zelda isn’t around to choose new Champions, and there’s no time for them to take on the Champion Trials. Without pilots, the machines are useless, and Link likely wants to concentrate on finding the Sages instead.
In any case, you won’t see the Divine Beasts in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom unless there’s some big secret of which we’re unaware. We thought they might be hidden underground somewhere as an easter egg, but we haven’t run into any of them after pretty extensive exploration.
