Finding a gloom-resistant armor set in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will likely be a priority for many players. Like with heat and cold, there is an outfit that can protect Link from the effects of gloom sickness. However, finding it requires quite a bit of effort and a thorough exploration of the depths.
Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom gloom-resistant armor location
The Armor of the Depths protects against gloom in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. To get the entire set, you must visit six Bargainer Statues in the depths. You can either start your journey by speaking to the small Bargainer Statue in Lookout Landing and paying it 100 poes to mark one of its larger siblings on your map. Alternatively, you can just start exploring and try to find them on your own.
The purchase requirements for the Armor of the Depths are:
- Tunic of the Depths: 1 statue met, 150 poes
- Gaiters of the Depths: 3 statues met, 200 poes
- Hood of the Depths: 6 statues met, 300 poes
So, to get the whole gloom-resistant set in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, you’ll need at least 650 poes. While this might seem like a lot, you’ll easily collect that many while traveling between statues.
You should note that the Armor of the Depths is only gloom-resistant, not gloom-proof. The effects of gloom take longer to affect Link when wearing this outfit, but it’ll still erase your hearts over time. Also, gloom-based attacks will continue to do similar damage. However, if you get all three pieces of the Armor of the Depths, you’ll activate the Gloom Attack Resist Set Bonus, which cuts damage from gloom attacks.
Despite the Armor of the Depths being gloom-resistant, there’s no way to completely avoid its effects in Zelda: Tears of the Wild. So, even once you have the set, make sure to watch your step.
