A Talus Heart drops in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom after you defeat one of the giant stone bosses. Given the difficulty in acquiring the stone heart and its shape, it’s not hard to imagine a deeper purpose for the item. Unfortunately, using a Stone Talus heart is not nearly as mysterious as you’d think.
How to use a Stone Talus Heart in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
The only use for the Stone Talus Heart in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is as a fusion item. You can’t pick it up, and there’s nowhere to exchange it for another item. Since it’s heart-shaped and you can pick it up with the Ultrahand, you might have thought it was used to get a heart container. Unfortunately, that’s not the case. So, don’t be like me and attach it to a wagon and drag it across Hyrule looking for someone who wants it.
Fortunately, the Talus Heart gives a nice little bonus in attack to whichever weapon you fuse. You can find a few varieties, and the more powerful the Talus, the better attack bonus you’ll get. It’s a nice way to make up for some of the weapons that inevitably broke while you were fighting the Talus.
You can also fuse a Talus Heart to your shield in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, but the effects of doing so aren’t as apparent. We assume it increases a shield’s durability, but we’re unsure to what degree. So, it’s probably best to just use it for a weapon where you know exactly what stat buff you’re getting.
It’s unfortunate that like the Zonai Construct Cores, you can’t take these with you for later use. Luckily, they can be stuck to something with Ultrahand, so you can always carry one with you for a bit until you find a suitable weapon with which to fuse it.
