The Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom The Missing Owner side quest is a fairly straightforward task, but the Molduga enemy can be tricky to kill. Once you complete the Lightning Temple in TotK, you can head to the jewelry shop in Gerudo Town to meet the worker Cara. She says that the owner has gone missing in the Toruma Ruins and has not returned. Your job is to find her and figure out what has her trapped. Here’s how to kill the Molduga mini-boss to complete The Missing Owner quest in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
How to defeat Molduga in The Missing Owner quest
To defeat the Molduga in The Missing Owner quest, you’ll need to take advantage of the enemy’s weakness for attacking anything that lands on the sand.
Heading west from Gerudo Town will lead you to the Toruma Dunes where you’ll see smoke coming from a campfire that’s been built by the owner you’re looking for. (The owner is named Isha by the way.) Attempting to rescue her triggers a Molduga to try and eat you as a Hylian snack.
There are several strategies you can use to defeat the Molduga, which Zelda fans may recognize from BotW. Completing any of the Temples will allow you to have the sages help you out by distracting the giant sand fish. There will also be several rocks you can climb on, which will prevent the Molduga from attacking you from beneath the sand.
To distract it, throw a bomb or any item from your inventory onto the ground to lure the Molduga. Once it appears, attack it with a bomb flower arrow to make it fall prone and then strike it while it’s down. Make sure that you don’t take too many swipes before it tries to tail-swipe you and borrows back underground. Repeat this process as many times as you need to finish the Molduga off.
Once this sand fish is defeated, you can speak with Isha and head back to Cara. Link will receive a diamond as a reward and The Missing Owner quest will be complete.
