A Diablo 4 Nightmare Sigils bug is giving some players trouble, particularly with sigil crafting not unlocking at the occultist and with sigils not dropping at all. It doesn’t help that Blizzard isn’t that clear on how Nightmare Sigil crafting is supposed to work. As for getting these sigils in the first place, you’re meant to trade in Grim Favors at the Tree of Whispers after you finish the main campaign. In fact, you’re meant to get a few sigils in the first reward cache, but some players report experiencing glitches and issues with it. Thankfully, there are some fixes and solutions to make sure you are getting sigils and that you are given access to sigil crafting if you believe that it’s bugged.
How to fix Diablo 4 Nightmare Sigils bugs and glitches
Here are several methods to fix the Diablo 4 Nightmare Sigils bug and to unlock sigil crafting:
- Complete a Tier 3 dungeon using a Nightmare Sigil – To unlock sigil crafting, you need to finish a Nightmare Dungeon on the higher T3 difficulty setting. After completing this, the quest for sigil crafting should appear. There are several ways to get a T3 Nightmare Sigil, which we’ll explain below. You also need to have completed the Cathedral of Light capstone dungeon to reach World Tier 3 difficulty in the first place.
- Find a group to finish a T3 or T4 Nightmare Dungeon – There’s a higher likelihood for a Tier 3 or Tier 4 Nightmare Sigil to drop from higher difficulty Nightmare Dungeons. If you think that these sigils aren’t appearing at all in your normal dungeon runthroughs, grouping up with some high-level party members to complete one of these harder dungeons is a good way to trigger the sigil crafting quest.
- Defeat a World Boss – The notification for a World Boss appearing on the map isn’t great. But if you can help kill one of the world bosses, it’s possible that you’ll get a sigil as one of the drops.
Also, the drop rate for Nightmare Sigils is also somewhat low, so it’s possible that you haven’t received one even after opening many caches. For better or worse, it partially depends on RNG.
Once you get a T1 Nightmare Sigil, you can start the process of completing the dungeon and getting a T2 Nightmare Dungeon. You can then repeat this process until you get the T3 Nightmare Sigil you need to unlock sigil crafting.
