Diablo 4 Item Power Breakpoints

Diablo 4 Item Power Breakpoints: List of Power Thresholds

Knowing the Diablo 4 item power breakpoints is important when upgrading equipment, so that you know when a tiny upgrade will provide a huge boost in stats. The blacksmith and the jeweler allow players to boost the item power of armor and jewelry by 5 points, which isn’t a lot to be fair. But if this small increase makes the item power goes past the various thresholds in the game, many of the item’s magical traits will get a huge boost. So to make this easy, here’s a quick list of the item power breakpoints in Diablo 4.

Diablo 4 item power breakpoints list

The following is a list of six Diablo 4 item power breakpoints that you should consider when upgrading equipment:

  • Tier 1 – Item Power 1
  • Tier 2 – Item Power 150
  • Tier 3 – Item Power 340
  • Tier 4 – Item Power 460
  • Tier 5 – Item Power 625
  • Tier 6 – Item Power 725

So, if an upgrade would push an equipment’s item power over these thresholds, it’s very well worth doing so. For example, a trait like “+15% Damage to Slowed Enemies” can become “+26% Damage to Slowed Enemies” just by going past the 340 threshold. The exact amount of the boost is randomized, since all substats are also rerolled.

This list will be especially handy if you are wondering if it’s worth spending some high-quality materials on an upgrade. Veiled Crystals and Coiling Wards, extracted from rare and legendary items, can be tough to get if you’re in the midgame. That said, you may not want to upgrade an item anyway if you think that it will be replaced with a better item.

In the future, it’s possible that Blizzard might add higher tiers of item power breakpoints. There are already two expansions slated for the game, and according to a datamine of the supposed World Tier 5, there will be new gems that could fill in the gap from Level 70 to Level 100. New item power thresholds could do much of the same.
