A Crash Team Rumble PC release is something Crash Bandicoot fans are wondering about. Following the Crash Team Rumble beta, the game is still only slated to release on consoles, specifically PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One. Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time, which was also developed by Toys for Bob and published by Activision, also released on PC. And Crash Team Rumble, being a MOBA at its core, would work well with a keyboard and mouse. Here’s what we know so far about a Crash Team Rumble PC release.
Is Crash Team Rumble releasing on PC?
So far, Activision and Toys for Bob have not made an official announcement that they would have a Crash Team Rumble PC release. But we do expect that a PC port will be coming eventually.
This expectation comes from how recent Crash Bandicoot games were released. For Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time, the game first released on PS4 and Xbox One in October 2020 before getting a PC port in late March 2021. We wouldn’t be surprised if a similar plan could be in the works for Crash Team Rumble.
It also doesn’t seem like there would be too many technical hurdles to jump over for a PC release for the game. Crossplay will already be available between Xbox and PlayStation consoles, so adding PC to the mix shouldn’t be too difficult. The MOBA genre is a natural fit for keyboard and mouse controls as well. Adding the PC audience would also extend the longevity of the game over time.
That said, a Crash Team Rumble PC release could face some difficulties. Perhaps this version of the game was nixed because the balance between a standard controller and keyboard/mouse could not be worked out. Another Crash Bandicoot spin-off, Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled by Beenox, also didn’t have a PC port. So if the console versions of Crash Team Rumble don’t sell well enough, it’s possible that we may not see a PC port of the game in the future.
