Halls of Torment multiplayer, whether in PvP or co-op, is a feature that fans are looking for. The surprise hit from developer Chasing Carrots works quite similar to Vampire Survivors, both of which are known for its solid bullethell action in single-player modes. The game is very popular on Steam Early Access, and Vampire Survivors will be adding four-player co-op on August 17, so fans are eager to see if Halls of Torment will follow suit. Here’s what we know so far about whether Chasing Carrots will be adding multiplayer modes to Halls of Torment.
Will Halls of Torment multiplayer be added to the game?
No, Chasing Carrots has stated that Halls of Torment will not be getting multiplayer, and chances seem low that this will change.
The developer said as much in an FAQ (which was updated on July 11, 2023 at the time of this writing), posted in the official Steam forums for the game. To the question “Are you going to add multiplayer?”, the developers simply says “No.” That’s quite definitive.
The only chance that Chasing Carrots might be adding multiplayer would be far in the future if Halls of Torment becomes very successful, and there are enough fans who request co-op or PvP. For now, the developers don’t even have a definitive roadmap and are waiting for player feedback on its updates. They also don’t have any plans to add an endless mode, which is enough requested mode that would be easier to implement in the existing game than multiplayer.
That said, Halls of Torment is still quite early in development, and the earliest time it will fully release is November 2023. Chasing Carrots does plan on making a Switch version of the game, which means that a port to PlayStation and Xbox platforms, in addition to a mobile version, could be in the works as well.
