An official Diablo 4 Campfire Chat has been planned for the developers to explain the highly controversial Patch 1.1 patch. If you haven’t heard about this update, the vast majority of players are disappointed with the nerfs in the patch notes. Many players have swamped the official Diablo 4 forums, the Diablo 4 Reddit, and the game’s Metacritic page to show their displeasure. This fireside chat also doesn’t seem to have been planned ahead of time, since the latest official news posts about Diablo 4 Season 1 doesn’t mention a dev stream of any kind. Regardless, here’s when you can expect this upcoming Diablo 4 Campfire Chat to air.
What is the Diablo 4 Campfire Chat date and time for Patch 1.1?
The Diablo 4 Campfire Chat date and time is Friday, July 21, 2023. No official time has been revealed at the time of this writing, but we expect it to air at 11 am PT / 2 pm ET. (Update: This is indeed the correct time as verified by Blizzard. The original article follows.)
This time is based on the Diablo 4 Campfire Chat that aired in June 2023. Likewise, this upcoming stream will be available on the official Diablo 4 YouTube and Twitch channels.
Global Community Development Director Adam Fletcher, also known as PezRadar, announced the Campfire Chat on Twitter on July 18. He states that the dev stream will “talk more” about the feedback Blizzard has heard from players “regarding some of the changes in 1.1.0” in Diablo 4. Fletcher promises that they will have more details and timing on the chat later on today (and we’ll update this article with the time).
That said, we’re not sure how much the developers can explain away the extent of the nerfs before Season 1. Pretty much all builds have been impacted significantly due to the general nerfs to crit damage, vulnerable damage, cooldown reduction, total armor, and more. They’ve also made the XP rate slower and Helltides harder.
Even with the addition of Malignant Hearts, these only apply to seasonal characters and they may not be enough to offset the overall drop in attack power across all characters. All told, we wouldn’t be surprised if the live comments to the Campfire Chat will just be outrage by the Diablo 4 community.
