Baldur's Gate 3 Shaft of a Broken Spear Head How to Get Combine

Baldur’s Gate 3 Shaft & Head of a Broken Spear: How to Find Them

The Baldur’s Gate 3 Shaft of a Broken Spear and Head of a Broken Spear are two items that you can find while exploring the forest outside of Emerald Grove. You may be wondering what they are, especially if you have found just one of these pieces. It’s easy to think that they are just vendor trash and accidentally sell either the shaft or head for a measly price. And even if you find both pieces of the weapon, you might be confused how to combine them together. Here’s where to find the Shaft and Head of the Broken Spear in BG3.

How to find Baldur’s Gate 3 Shaft of the Broken Spear and Head of the Broken Spear

The Shaft of the Broken Spear can be found on the body of Edowin, while the Head of the Broken Spear is found in the Owlbear Nest.

For specific coordinates, the Shaft of the Broken Spear is looted from Edowin’s corpse in the Forest at X 136, Y 446. From the front entrance of Emerald Grove, take a right and continue down the path until you hear Edowin and two of his companions. The cutscene that happens between them has different outcomes, but they all end up with you being able to find the Shaft of the Broken Spear on his body.

Close to Edowin is a cave entrance of an Owlbear Nest located at coordinates X 86, Y 448. Inside, you’ll find an Owlbear you can slay that has the Head of the Broken Spear, the other half of the weapon.

Once you have both parts of the spear, you don’t need to find a forge or blacksmith to make the weapon whole again. While you have the shaft and head of the weapon in your inventory, you can right-click on either piece and choose to combine them.

Once done, you’ll receive the Vision of the Absolute, which has a chance of blinding a target and deals an additional 2d6 piercing damage to any creature that has multiple sets of eyes. This means that this is effective against beholders and perhaps other aberrations.
