Baldur's Gate 3 Distressed Patient BG3 House of Healing Can You Save Him

Baldur’s Gate 3 Distressed Patient: Can You Save Him?

The Baldur’s Gate 3 distressed patient can be found in the House of Healing, making players ask whether they can save him. The patient is strapped to a surgical bed and clicking on the table prompts a message that says that he can’t be moved because there isn’t enough space. This unnamed person is an unfortunate victim of the Absolute, evil cultists who has not only surgically removed the patient’s eyes, but placed a parasite into his brain and got rid of his tongue. This is why speaking to him will only have the patient be able to grunt a few indecipherable words. Considering how gruesome and inhumane this scene is, here’s whether you can save the distressed patient in BG3.

Can you save the Baldur’s Gate 3 distressed patient?

No, sadly there’s little you can do to help distressed patient in the House of Healing in Baldur’s Gate 3.

First off, don’t worry about trying to find a key to unlock the person’s shackles from the surgery table. Even if you comb around the entire House of Healing, you won’t find a way to free the patient.

The best you can do is cast a spell called Knock, a Level 2 Transmutation spell that can unlock a mundane lock. This spell can be learned by a Bard, Sorcerer, or Wizard, so one of your options will be the wizard Gale. Even if you are able to unlock his shackles, though, the patient will simply rise from the table and walk a few steps before he crumbles to the ground dead.

From that point, if you don’t a working Moon Lantern out, the patient will rise as an undead with 1 HP that will immediately become hostile. You will then be forced to kill the patient despite your best efforts. Unfortunately, casting Speak with Dead on him will not reveal any further information. You could still have Astarion feed on him if you really want to.
