How to get Koins in MK1
To get Koins in Mortal Kombat 1, you have to just generally play the game. You can get Koins by finishing tutorials, playing towers, completing a certain amount of challenges, completing Invasion battles, and playing online.
You may have to occasionally go into the notifications and claim your Koins. Just press the corresponding button that’s near your player card in the top left corner on the main menu. The quests are also in this menu and are worth consistently checking. Daily quests seem to cycle endlessly when completed, while weekly ones don’t.
It doesn’t always make it clear that you’re earning Koins, but you’ll slowly accrue more currency by playing most modes. You’ll even get more Koins for doing Fatalities and even more for performing Brutalities. You won’t get Koins by playing versus locally (against an AI or a human) or in practice mode, though.
Koins can only be spent at the Dragon Shrine in the Extra menu. The Dragon Shrine will take those 1,000 Koins and spit out some random concept art, gear, or skin.
How to get Seasonal Kredits in MK1
To get Seasonal Kredits in MK1, you also have to just generally play the game. You can get Seasonal Kredits by playing online, clearing towers, going through Invasion, clearing challenges, or ranking up online. Every rank comes with a small bonus of Seasonal Kredits. You’ll also get more for doing Fatalities and a few more for doing Brutalities. And again, you won’t get Seasonal Kredits by playing versus locally (against an AI or a human) or in practice mode.
It’s worth it to check the challenges you have to complete by pressing the corresponding button that’s near your player card in the top left corner. And while it gives Koins for completing batches of challenges, you get Seasonal Kredits for every individual challenge you complete.
Seasonal Kredits can only be spent in the Seasonal Items part of the store. These items only last for the remainder of the season. Getting everything will cost many thousands of Seasonal Kredits, as every character has a few gear items and skins to buy. According to lead QA analyst Stephanie Brownback, Seasonal Kredits expire after the season, so be sure to spend them.
How to get Dragon Krystals in MK1
To get Dragon Krystals in Mortal Kombat 1, you will probably have to spend real money. This is the only type of currency that isn’t widely available through gameplay. Players who bought the most expensive edition of the game will get 1,250 to spend, which is good for around two or three bundles of items. Clearing the campaign will also unlock 500 Dragon Krystals.
You will get a few hundred Dragon Krystals for leveling up your profile every so often at fixed intervals. You’ll also get some for leveling up characters. For example, you will get 100 Dragon Krystals when a character hits level 20. It remains to be seen if NetherRealm will add more ways to earn Dragon Krystals in the game.
