Lords of the Fallen ammo upgrades are pivotal for those who want to keep their foes at bay and peck away at them with ranged weaponry. There are many enemies in the game that can horde the player, so using a hatchet toss or two to thin the herd is wise. Here’s how to upgrade ammo capacity in Lords of the Fallen.
How to raise max ammo in Lords of the Fallen
To upgrade ammo capacity in Lords of the Fallen, you simply have to know what stat to upgrade. Endurance and Vitality are the two you want to focus on if you want more ammo capacity. The stats screen doesn’t do a great job of notifying you of what increases your ammo capacity. It really only shows on the level up screen how much your stamina and health will go up, respectively.
It is also a little vague on how many upgrades of each you need for an extra pip. You ammo capacity won’t increase every single time you dump a point into Endurance and Vitality, thus making it harder to track (which is, again, compounded by its absence on the level up screen). But gradually putting points into both will yield more ammo as you rank up.
However, there is a formula that you can use to deduce your ammo count. Add your Vitality and Endurance together. Divide that sum by two and round down. Subtract two from that number. For example, if you had level 11 Endurance and level 12 Vitality, you would get 23. Divide that by two to get 12.5 and then round down to 12. Take away two to get 10, which means you’d have 10 ammo shots.
Getting more ammo refills is a different story, as ammunition is handled a little differently in Lords of the Fallen when compared to other RPGs or soulslikes. Ammo is not dictated by how many of that ammo type you have found. Instead, it is dictated by a universal pool like a mana bar, presumably to get players to more freely use their ranged weapons and cut down on inventory management.
Ammunition Pouches are consumable items that are scattered around that will refill your ammo gauge regardless of what you have equipped. You can also buy them from Gerlinde once you’ve freed her.
