Pokemon Go How to Make a New Friend Finding Your Voice

Pokemon Go: How to Make a New Friend for Finding Your Voice

You may find yourself confused when trying to “make a new friend” in Pokemon Go to complete the Finding Your Voice Special Research. The fifth part of the quest tells you to go make a friend, but it doesn’t inform you that it has to be done in a certain way. Unfortunately, just being added to remote raids doesn’t cut it.

How to “make a new friend” in Pokemon Go

To “make a new friend” in Pokemon Go for the Finding Your Voice Special Research, you have to directly add a friend using their friend code or be added using your friend code. It doesn’t make much sense since raid hosts have to add you as a friend when you join a remote raid, but this doesn’t count toward your goal.

Unfortunately, it can be a pain to find someone to add. When I got this task, I was already friends in the game with everyone I knew who played Pokemon Go IRL. So, I was a bit stumped on how to proceed. Luckily, there’s a website where players can post their friend code to a big list. You can either opt to add your code and wait for people to friend you or pick one of the many random codes off and add them.

More Pokemon Guides

You only have to add or be added as a friend once to complete the “make a new friend” task. However, there are plenty of advantages to making friends in the game:

  • More people to exchange gifts with.
  • More trainers to invite to remote raids.
  • Plenty of interesting postcards to collect.

Since players can’t chat with you in-game, you don’t have to worry about any toxic behavior, so adding new friends really only gives you benefits. Consider taking the time to add some now so you can reap the rewards.
