It looks like GTA 6 won’t be launching on PC. The first trailer only mentioned that it would be releasing on console. Additionally, Take Two Interactive put out in a press release that GTA 6 will only be coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S at launch. But why?
Why is there no GTA 6 release date?
The exact reason for GTA 6 not getting a PC release at launch is unknown but it has been a trend with Rockstar releases. If we take a look at GTA 5, it followed the same pattern. It got a PS3 and Xbox 360 release at launch in September 2013, and came to PC only in April 2015, almost a year and a half later. In between it received an upgraded re-release for PS4 and Xbox One in November 2014 as an Enhanced Version.
Perhaps the reason for a delayed PC release could possibly be the requirement for additional polishing of the game. As PCs can use more advance graphic processing units than consoles, it requires more work in order to put out a quality product. Also, by the looks of Trailer 1, the game already is a pleasure to the eyes with respect to graphics. Imagine it getting better.
As of now, we know that GTA 6 will be coming out sometime in 2025 for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. There is a chance that a release date will come out with an upcoming trailer, but it may be a while before we see a new one. So for now, fans can take a break, to sit back and enjoy Trailer 1 on repeat until a new announcement is made regarding GTA VI.
