Helldivers 2 Railgun Unsafe Mode

Helldivers 2 Railgun Unsafe Mode: How To Use & Is It Worth Using?

Here’s how to use the Helldivers 2 Railgun’s Unsafe mode, what it does, and if it’s worth using over the normal Safe mode. For those who keep exploding when using Unsafe mode, here’s why and how to master the weapon’s more powerful capabilities.

How to use the Helldivers 2 Railgun’s Unsafe mode

In Helldivers 2, a Railgun in Unsafe Mode will kill players if it reaches the maximum charges limit. Hence they need to control it by firing accurately and with gaps.

If the Railgun is kept in the Unsafe mode and reaches maximum charge, it will explode in the hands of the Helldivers. This can kill them instantly without any consideration for armor rating. Hence, players need to keep an eye on the gun charge while fighting enemies.

Unsafe Mode will grant increased damage for those who are willing to take the risk of controlling the gun’s charge. Controlling the Railgun’s shots and firing only when one needs to is the best method of mastering the Unsafe Mode. However, the Safe mode has its uses as well.

Is the Railgun’s Unsafe mode worth using and better than Safe?

In Helldivers 2, the Railgun in Unsafe Mode is worth using on individual bosses or Tanks with a lot of HP. Safe Mode is better for group battles and minions that attack in groups.

Helldivers 2 likes to throw lots of enemies at once to create a sense of rush. Hence, keeping an eye on the Railgun’s charge meter is practically very difficult during horde attacks. Hence, safe mode is the better option for attacking groups.

However, Unsafe Mode increases the Railgun’s damage, making it useful against enemies with a lot of health. Focusing on a singular enemy can prove helpful to players when they are trying to keep the Railgun charge under the maximum limit.
