Have you seen the gold clan tags in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare? These gold tags, sometimes referred to as yellow clan tags, were introduced alongside the game’s latest update. How to get a Gold Clan Tag in Modern Warfare
Yellow or gold clan tags in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare were introduced alongside Regiments with the Season 2 update version 1.14. To use them, you have to be part of a Regiment, the Modern Warfare version of clans. Assuming you’re already in a Regiment, you can change the color of your clan tag within the Barracks menu.

Here’s how the whole process works. If you’re not yet in a Regiment, now is the time to create or join one. Either way, this can be accomplished first by heading into the Social menu, then by navigating to the Regiments tab. Here you can join and/or select an active Regiment, or create a new one. If you’re creating your first Regiment, this will be the opportunity to compose your own custom clan tag.
Once you’ve created or settled on an existing Regiment, it’s time to add it to your in-game username. This is done in the Barracks menu. Open Barracks, select the Identity menu listing, then select the relevant clan tag from within the Customize menu.
Here’s where the tricky part comes in. To change your clan tag to gold or yellow, make sure you’re within the Customization menu, then select Clan Tag. From the Switch Clan Tag menu, highlight your chosen tag, then press Square on a PS4 controller, X on an Xbox One controller, or R on PC to change the clan tag color.
There’s no need to complete missions or challenges in order to use gold clan tags in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Simply head over to the Identity menu, open the Clan Tag menu, and press the corresponding button to cycle through clan tag colors. Simple, right?
