Developers Gather for 12th Annual Games for Change Festival

Games for Change gathers developers and industry insiders for a gathering aimed at promoting video gaming's ability to change our perception of people and places far removed from understanding and this year's conference will be held at the NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts as part of the Tribeca Film Festival.

Games for Change "remains the leading international event that unites game creators with organizations and thought leaders who are incorporating gaming into diverse industries: health, education, and social innovation." This year's attendees include:

  • Award-winning filmmaker Morgan Spurlock
  • Pulitzer Prize-winning authors Nicholas Kristof & Sheryl WuDunn
  • ​Oculus VR Chief Scientist Michael Abrash
  • Vlambeer developer Rami Ismail
  • 80 Days Writer Meg Jayanth
  • Schell Games CEO Jesse Schell
  • NYU Game Center Director Frank Lantz
  • ​Nordic LARP creators Cecilia Dolk and Martin Ericsson

When asked about the event for a press release distributed by Games for Change, foundation President Asi Burak said "Games for Change is known for bringing together the brightest minds that are incorporating gaming into every aspect of life to advance society. This year we have our strongest and boldest line-up yet showcasing the latest work on all platforms from VR to mobile games."
