Shadowrun: Hong Kong made headlines in mid-January for reaching its $100,000 goal in only two hours. Now, at the end of the campaign, developer Harebrained Schemes have amassed over $1.2 million from over 31,000 backers on Kickstarter
For reaching all (yes, all!) of the stretch goals, Harebrained Schemes will be adding enhanced player controls, animatic scene transitions, both the Russian rigger Racter and Red Samurai Gaichu, more animatic endings, side missions from Gobbet, is0bel, and Gaichu, better sound, enhanced cyber abilities, revamped matrix, and a 4-5 hour mini-campaign that will be free to backers at the $15 reward level and above. Whew!
This standalone sequel and self-described "cyberpunk tactical cRPG" sets you and your motley crew of a rat shaman, a security specialist, and a sniping decker (and more) in 2056 Hong Kong. Let's hope that in between firefights that you'll get some authentic in-game dim sum. I would.
If you've missed out on some of the awesome backer tchotchkes and various bonuses for pledging, Harebrained Schemes is opening a second-chance campaign until March 13th, 2015. You can follow all of the updates from the team as they finish the game on the developer's official website.
