The anticipation for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is through the roof now that the game has a release date, but some fans may be disappointed to hear that Snake won't talk as much as expected.
In an interview with IGN, series creator Hideo Kojima explained that Snake will be more silent to create a stronger player/protagonist connection.
Kojima went on to reiterate that "this time, Snake won't really speak much at all." Instead, the characters around Snake will shape the story, much like Mad Max according to Kojima.
The MGS faithful know that Snake is now voiced by actor Kiefer Sutherland, who didn't have many lines in Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes. Phantom Pain is a much larger game though, so it'll be interesting to see how Snake's silence pays off when the game comes out in September.
