If you've been into the original DotA, Heroes of Newerth, or League of Legends, then you've probably been following DotA 2. So you're also probably aware that DotA 2's gameplay was officially unveiled to the world at gamescom on Wednesday via a 16-team tournament featuring the best DotA players in the world. You know what that reminds me of?
Just like everyone who gathered around a giant two-story screen to see an autistic kid own everyone else in Super Mario Bros. 3 with a warp whistle, DotA fans the world over tuned into the livestream to get their first taste of DotA 2, straight from the pros. Well, almost. Unlike the Wizard kid, these pros have had access to the game for a month so they could be familiar with the nuances of the remake before taking the world stage.
If you want to see the first round of tournament matches for yourself, they're all available to watch on the official DotA 2 site. There will be more matches every day until the tournament's completion on Sunday, August 21. I really hope that all the pros are playing it with one of these:
