Minecraft is taking the world by storm, one block at a time. You can now take it on the go since it's been released on the Android Market. The one catch is that you can only play it on the Xperia PLAY; it's currently not compatible with other Android phones. I know. I tried. (Damn you, Droid 3!)
To celebrate the release of Minecraft on Xperia PLAY, developer Mojang created a handful of Limited Edition Minecraft Xperia PLAY smartphones and is giving them away at gamescom. However, that's not the only way you can get one – you can also grab on on the auction block (perfect pun, eh?).
Right now, Mojang has one of the Limited Edition Minecraft Xperia PLAYs on Ebay, which is currently fetching a cool $1500 and counting. With over 56 bids and over 2 days left on the auction, that number is bound to rise.
Mojang is donating the proceeds of the auction to "those in need", but doesn't specify which charity it's going to. I suggest the ASLF, or the Anthony Severino Lawnmower Fund.
