If Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin had been released last week and sold the same numbers, it would have debuted in eighth place. Two weeks ago, it would have been 15th. But since it came out just this past Thursday, during one of the dullest weeks of the year, it can be called Japan's best-selling game. It sold just a hair more than 20,000 units. Yeah. Here are the top 20 best-selling games in Japan for the week of April 6 – April 12:
1. (PS4) Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin – 20,494

On the bright side, check out the legs on Digimon. That game came out in mid March and is still hanging in there.
As you might expect, the weak-ass hardware sales looked like this:
New 3DS – 23,177
Vita – 18,028
PS4 – 17,885
Wii U – 6,654
PS3 – 4,221
3DS – 3,664
Xbox One – 238
Too bad for Xbox One. I was really thinking that its comeback time had arrived.
Get ready for a rough April followed by a relative explosion in early May, thanks to Golden Week.
I love charts.
