From Software Plans to Fix Dark Souls II Durability Bug

Weapons degrade in Dark Souls II – it's only natural. The rate at which they degrade has been an issue though, and From Software plans to fix the issue in an upcoming patch.

Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin contains a glitch in which frame rate affects weapon durability. If the game runs at 60FPS, weapons degrade faster. It means players are forced to carry multiple weapons in case one breaks on the way to the next bonfire or boss.

The original game had the same issue, but only the PC version could run at 60FPS. With Scholar of the First Sin, all versions run at 60FPS, which means more people are experiencing the bug.

In a statement to Kotaku, From Software explained that "the fix will be issued for PS4, Steam and Xbox One, and will be apparent for people running the game at 60fps as the durability decrease rate is linked to the frame rate."

Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin is already difficult enough. Now everyone can focus on the deadly enemies and stop worrying about broken weapons.
