Venerable Pete Hines, VP of PR and Marketing at Bethesda, has revealed merely noted that Skyrim, just as the other RPG in development Mass Effect 3, will have same-sex marriage—and I suppose every other kind of monogamous humanoid marriage possible in the game:
Pete then clarified what he meant:
This has some fundamentalist Christians citing Leviticus all over the comment sections on the internet, regurgitating that this is "yet another attempt" of people pushing their political beliefs and gay agenda. Of course, those same people believe that any gay man who opens his mouth is an agenda…
I give Bethesda a lot of respect for taking this "Yeah, so what?" attitude about gay marriage, because I'm pretty much the same way: What's the big deal?! It's amazingly sad that we need to have video games to show us the "fantasy" of gay acceptance and that we have people complaining about a virtual world. Anyway, let's get back to slaying dragons, ghouls, and evil people who are trying to destroy happiness.
