If you haven't been on Reddit lately, you might not know that the site seems to be imploding following the termination of a key member of the site's AMA team. Well, it appears to be affecting gaming boards as well.
A bunch of subreddits have joined together in protest by making their pages private. They include huge ones such as r/books, r/music, and even r/Gaming. The moderators of those pages made the decision to express their support for the fired employee and their frustration with site management.
Although r/Gaming has been made private, it's not the only game-specific board affected by the blackout. Subreddits for Destiny, Fallout 4, and Grand Theft Auto V have also been taken down as part of the movement.
All of this took place yesterday after Victoria, or /u/chooter, was released from her position at Reddit. She was largely responsible for all AMAs on the site, and the news upset a large part of the community. Further details can be found in this extensive Reddit post.
