Gears of War: Ultimate Edition’s 18 Months of Development Shows in This Impressive Video

Gears of War: Ultimate Edition is a profound remaster for several reasons, one of which is the significance of the original Gears of War. As with other historically important games, it affected future game design. In 2006 it demonstrated that third-person shooters could have great gameplay using cohesive gunplay and intuitive cover mechanics.

In 15 days Gears of War can be relived with the benefits of modern hardware. Remastered from the ground up specifically for Xbox One and PC, Gears of War: Ultimate Edition is the sort of game you play to remind yourself why you fell in love with a game years ago

In anticipation of release, The Coalition has sat down to talk about how it's improved the visual presentation of Gears of War to not only meet today's standards but to make the original game even better. It's taken more than 18 months to arrive at this point, and the result has been cast in a video which you can view below:

Gears of War: Ultimate Edition will feature five previously unplayable chapters of the original title. It will also deliver a fully-fledged multiplayer component that's true to the original experience equipped with more than 10 maps to play. You can play it on Xbox One beginning August 25th and PC later this year.
