Emperor, Han Solo and Princess Leia Found in Star Wars: Battlefront’s Beta Files

Thanks to Reddit user TheeUberMedic, additional Star Wars characters have been revealed for Star Wars: Battlefront. They were uncovered in a beta file titled "characters.cb", alluding to their eventual reveal as playable characters for the game.

The three characters are the following:

Emperor

Han Solo

Princess Leia

The beta currently features fan favorites Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker as the only hero and villain choices. Many videos and GIFs of the two clashing with their lightsabers have made rounds around the internet sparking additional interest in the game.

These heroes can be unlocked simply by locating a power-up within a level, similar to picking-up a weapon in a classic first-person shooter. This same power-up system applies to the game's vehicles, which some have found to be a bizarre game design choice.

TheeUberMedic also located two never-before-seen game modes, Hero Hunt and Heroes vs Villains. It is unclear if these will make it to the final release, but their titles hint at gameplay focused on combat between these hero characters.

The inclusion of these heroes will play an important part in Star Wars: Battlefront's marketing effectiveness when it debuts shortly before Star Wars: The Force Awakens
