Sony has released a new trailer for its upcoming handheld, the PlayStation Vita. While not necessarily revealing a bunch of new information, it does reaffirm the go-anywhere, do you stuff anytime type of experience Sony is looking to provide with its second portable system. We get a look at handpicked, attractive, young people taking advantage of the Vita's 3G capabilities (which do not come standard) to play games competitively, cooperate, download games from the PSN Store, browse the internet, and check out their trophy collections. Sony calls participation in this as joining "the social gaming revolution".
The Vita is set to be released by the end of the year in Japan, and Western launch dates will likely follow a short time after it arrives in Japan. With the end of the year a mere four months away and Tokyo Game Show even sooner, plenty more Vita updates are definitely on the way.
