Bethesda Game Studios' Todd Howard revealed during a 2016 DICE Summit, according to GameSpot, that the developer is working on a trio of projects that seem to be separate from its usual work on Fallout and The Elder Scrolls.
We have three longer-term projects we're doing… they're different than anything we've done before while also being a Bethesda-style game; big and crazy.
Howard said that the types of games he's interested in producing have the sense of scale like Fallout 4, so we can expect that whatever Bethesda is up to, it will have a vast open world.
And if they are indeed "crazy" when it comes to a Bethesda game, we can expect it not to be about post-apocalyptic Americana or lore-heavy fantasy. Perhaps something set during modern times or something set in the Jurassic period? Maybe a cat simulator?!
What do you think Bethesda is making?
