World of Warcraft: Legion Pre-Patch Arriving Next Tuesday, July 19th [UPDATE: NOW LIVE]

Update: The pre-patch is now live! You can read the official patch notes here.

Original Story: After a wealth of speculation, Blizzard has confirmed that the World of Warcraft: Legion pre-patch will debut on July 19th. This allows for players to enjoy its upcoming changes and additions for more than six weeks while Blizzard works on balancing classes ahead of Legion's launch at the end of August.

The news was confirmed via the official World of Warcraft Twitter account as follows:

Be prepared. The #Legion Pre-Expansion Patch Arrives July 19!

Interestingly enough, this date was "leaked" by an unnamed source on Reddit more than two months ago. Many were skeptical, but it appears that he was right all along.

As described in a new blog post, the pre-patch includes substantial content. For one, all classes are seeing revisement of sorts in preparation for the increase in level cap to 110. This includes talent alteration, trimmed and optimized abilities, as well as all-new animations.

In addition, the new Transmogrification menu will be added. This will allow players to collect items automatically and equip them to their characters account-wide without worrying about Void Storage.

In the weeks ahead the Burning Legion will invade Azeroth in a multi-phase event. This will include the addition of outdoor activities, early unlock of the Demon Hunter class, and new items to collect in anticipation of Legion's August 30th launch.

We recently met up with Blizzard at a Legion pre-launch event. You can read about our experience here.
