Rumor: L.A. Noire Remaster Coming Summer 2017… With a Nintendo Switch Version

With one of the most expensive development costs in history, L.A. Noire was one of last generation's most ambitious games. It was a pioneer of facial motion capture, a technology which it used to create lifelike interactions between its protagonist and the non-player characters he would interrogate.

According to more than one source, an L.A. Noire Remaster is currently in development with a release planned for Summer 2017. Although its supposed PS4 and Xbox One versions are nothing surprising, its Switch port is.

One source by the name of Yan2295 posted on January 15th, stating, "According to what I heard, Rockstar might be releasing a remastered version of L.A. Noire on the Nintendo Switch." A second source named DirectFeedGames chimed in today stating, "Regarding LA Noire Remaster, the title is sounding like it'll come to Switch, PS4, and Xbox One. Release slated for late summer".

L.A. Noire has sold over six million copies on Xbox One and PS3, a figure which is said to not have been enough for Rockstar Games to have made a profit. This, in addition to its middling reviews, has resulted in the game being labeled a dud by many analysts.

L.A. Noire was rated Mature when it released in 2011 due to the presence of sexual themes, strong language, and violence. It's a bizarre match for the Switch's "family friendly" orientation, prompting skepticism regarding the rumor.
