Overwatch Passes 25 Million Players

Overwatch has quickly become one of the most popular multiplayer games in the world. After passing 20 million players in October 2016, Blizzard announced today that Overwatch has just crossed 25 million registered players.

The Twitter announcement points to the staggering and impressive growth of Overwatch, underscoring what a surprise sensation the first-person-shooter has become after less than a year past its release.

Just starting its fourth special event, Overwatch continues to flex its muscles and show how engaging the game can be even after launch.

Overwatch's recent patch, though, has been met with mixed reception, like every patch has, with heroes affected by the patch being hotly debated on Reddit and on the game's forums, where there dozens of separate threads bemoaning heroes like Roadhog and D.Va for one reason or another.

That being said, the forums clearly represent a small portion of the game's overall player base, especially now with this new number. It doesn't seem like Blizzard will be giving up on Overwatch any time soon.
