Being officially announced yesterday at 10 a.m., Pillars Of Eternity 2: Deadfire set the same crowdfunding goal as its predecessor: $1.1 million. After coming out of the gate at a blistering pace of more than $100,000 per hour, Deadfire has met its funding goal in just under 23 hours.
While not setting a record pace, Pillars 2's success gave its almost 10,000 backers have a lot to celebrate, after waiting almost a year since the game was first confirmed to finally see something concrete and now with the guarantee that it will come to fruition.
Now that it's set in stone, Pillars of Eternity 2 will feature a brand new island-based world with several brand new characters and companions, while also featuring dynamic weather and several revised spells and abilities.
They are, obviously, still accepting pledges, with a modest $29 pledge netting you a digital copy and a special in-game item.
