Game Freak Appears To Be Recruiting For A Nintendo Switch Pokémon Game

Game Freak and Nintendo have always had an incredibly close relationship, but the Pokémon developer is technically its own entity. As such, Game Freak does not use Nintendo's hiring system, and instead is free to advertise open positions on third party websites such as Monster or Indeed. It's exactly the latter that tipped off astute Pokémon fans to what might be in store for the series in the near future.

As pointed out by Siliconera, a Game Freak job listing posted to Indeed.com requires a set of skills that sounds extremely Pokémon-esque, alluding to what sounds quite like the wildly popular monster-catching franchise. The following excerpts from the listing, translated, stand out in particular.

"Here’s a chance to work on the development of a globally popular RPG!"

"We’ll have you work on the production an RPG game that is popular on a global scale."

"Platform will be console. It’s a title that just about anyone knows, a proposal that could be your future career."

If that doesn't have you convinced, there's more; the role requires the applicant be skilled in the 3D modeling of "super-deformed" characters, monsters, and items that are "cartoon-like" in nature.

Meanwhile, there's another modeler job listing, this time for a new title. It states that prior modeling experience should include Wii U and PlayStation Vita, both platforms that mimic (or at least parlay nicely into) what Switch has been shown to be capable of. This title's identity remains mysterious, but it does sound as though both titles, Pokémon or not, could very well be headed to Switch.

Of course, none of this is confirmed, but as is tradition with Pokémon you can likely expect a slow trickle of info regarding the latest entries via CoroCoro once anything is formally announced.
