Not surprisingly, a Final Fantasy title has claimed the top spot in Japan's software sales, with the PSP's Final Fantasy Type-0 handing everyone their ass. What may be a bit of a shock is that it sold half a million in just its first weekend. That's getting into like, Monster Hunter territory right there. We'll just see if it has the staying power of Monster Hunter, though, as MH Portable 3 hung around in the top 20 for months and months longer than virtually every other game out there. The chart looks like this:
1. (PSP) Final Fantasy Type-0
2. (WII) Kirby's Return to Dream Land
3. (PS3) The Idolmaster 2
4. (WII) Just Dance Wii
5. (WII) Go Vacation
6. (PS3) Disgaea 4: Fuuka & Desco-hen Hajime Mashita
7. (PSP) Ro-Kyu-Bu!
8. (PS3) Gekijouban Macross F: Sayonara no Tsubasa – Hybrid Pack
9. (PSP) Senritsu no Stratus
10. (PSP) Ragnarok: Hikari to Yami no Koujo
11. (PS3) Dead Island
12. (PS3) World Soccer Winning Eleven 2012
13. (PSP) AKB1/48: Idol to Guam de Koishitara…
14. (WII) Wii Sports Resort with Remote Plus
15. (PSP) Naruto Shippuden: Narutimate Impact
16. (WII) Rhythm Heaven: Fever
17. (PS3) FIFA 12
18. (PSP) Arcana Famiglia: La Storia Della Arcana Famiglia
19. (PS3) Ace Combat: Assault Horizon
20. (NDS) Kirby Mass Attack
Hardware sales, meanwhile, look a little summon like this:
3DS – 65,041
PSP – 30,605
PS3 – 25,217
Wii – 11,784
DSi LL – 2,009
Xbox 360 – 1,704
PS2 – 1,228
DSi – 1,061
DS Lite – 55
Odd that the 3DS is going so nuts in hardware sales, yet doesn't have a single game in the top 20 for software.
