We hate to say it, but rumors are usually true. Sony has confirmed this morning that Team ICO founder and creator of gaming bliss such as ICO and Shadow of the Colossus has indeed parted ways with Sony.
The only saving grace here is that Ueda-san will be staying on to complete The Last Guardian as a contractor, as the original rumor suggested. Sony told Gamasutra that Ueda is still "comitted to completing" the project.
This confirmation follows recent news that the game's executive producer, Yoshifusa Hayama, also left for a job with News Corporation's Bossa.
What does all of this mean for The Last Guardian? Sony seems keen on keeping it going, but without the full support of everyone involved, will the finished product suffer?
