Sony Flip-Flops on One Account Per Vita

Sony, stop the flip-floppery. It's starting to smell.

Previously, we reported that Wired.com received word from a Sony representative at a Vita preview event in Manhattan that the PS Vita was not limited to one PSN account, because "your PSN ID is bonded to your memory card". This was after Sony said the opposite. But now, Sony has sent Wired another email retracting the newer statement and returning to the original:

[The] PSN account is tied to the hardware and the memory card, not just the card, which means that if a second person is using your Vita, it’s not just a case of switching out memory cards, it’s clearing out all of your saved data on the Vita itself when you do the factory reset.

In other words, PlayStation Vita is intended to be played by only one user.

So whether or not PS Vita owners can sign in with separate accounts or create different regional accounts remains unknown, but it doesn't look likely. Of course, after this, I'm not sure what is likely anymore.
